Manipulation and sorting of micro-organisms by dielectrophoresis
Koh Boon Yong James, Marcos
Studying the locomotion of micro-organisms, such as bacteria and spermatozoa, allows us to understand how they travel from one point to another. Knowledge is good, but application of the knowledge to achieve desired outcome is better. Dielectrophoresis can alter the kinematic behaviour of micro-organisms, and even allow sorting of spermatozoa for the purpose of gender selection.
